Fraser Taylor was born in Scotland, he took a BA at the Glasgow School of Art and in 1983 an MA at the Royal College of Art in London.
Since 2001 he has been teaching at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has exhibited since 1985 in the UK, France, Italy, the USA, Tokyo and Australia at group and solo exhibitions as well as at art fairs.
His work is found in a number of private and public collections worldwide. His paintings celebrate colour and gesture. Having no expectation at the start of each work of the final image, it is through the adding and subtraction of paint that images are found them trapped.
